Amy's GardenDear friends -- Just a short glimpse into the party we threw for mama & papa on Sunday, June 28th - forty years after they first wed in Newark, NJ at the Sacred Heart (then) Cathedral. My parents if you didn't know already, are close to my bestest friends, even though I will never tell them - shh! And while it was a little stressful the days leading to the party, I am so glad we were able to pull it off! I will follow up with some details on the easy projects, but for now here is the digital slideshow looping in my head.
xoxo,
Maia
P.S. - I have a new found appreciation for my people and brethren in the Fil-Am community in Bergenfield, but more on that later.

the easiest banner in the world, thanks to leftover marigold legal paper, string and a forgiving laser printer.
the thing I love most about Amy's garden is the outdoor tents, umbrellas and the undisclosed gazebo.
the opposite side: simple centerpiece for the table;
this side: mom & dad's love story, a la Mad Libs style - first table to win gets lotto tickets!
It's a good thing that in 29 years, I've learned how to lie, and lie well to my parents -
they were definitely surprised beyond belief!
(even though mom scolded me and yelled at me minutes before revealing the surpise.)
such a happy and cheery cake a la Christine's Bakeshop: 1/2 Pandaan, 1/2 Mocha
Quick slideshow a la Picasa.
Twelfth of Never - song & dance (yes, my mom MADE him sing the songs before this twirl.)
Not only do I love this idea (borrowed from my bridal shower), but that the silk forsythia arrangement was 'borrowed' from mama's house the night before - sneaky, I am. They are also significant because these flowers were in full bloom when mom first came to the states.
Baquiran/Corrales clan - too many generations to count in this pic, but lovely all the same!
