i've been thinking a lot lately, "who am i?" in terms of my work, life, and the balance between the two. I must say that I'm quite happy where my accomplishments have taken me thus far, but I'm definitely at a funky fork in the road, and wonder how these characteristics may/may not define me going forward. in the meantime, I shall contemplate on this tagcloud, created from my resume, to see how much i really love what I do, or at least hoping a few other words to grow than others.

Dear friends -- Just a short glimpse into the party we threw for mama & papa on Sunday, June 28th - forty years after they first wed in Newark, NJ at the Sacred Heart (then) Cathedral. My parents if you didn't know already, are close to my bestest friends, even though I will never tell them - shh! And while it was a little stressful the days leading to the party, I am so glad we were able to pull it off! 'SECRETS OF NEW YORK' EXEC FRAUD

THE chief operating officer of award-winning NYC-TV played a starring role yesterday in his own law-and-order drama when he was arrested for allegedly siphoning more than $60,000 from the station, authorities said.

Trevor Scotland, 38, former No. 2 exec at NYC-TV, which operates city-owned Ch. 25, was charged with pocketing advertising money that should have gone to the city.

Officials said Scotland kept 80 percent of the more than $60,000 that came in between March 2007 and April 2008, while a cohort pocketed 20 percent.

The money came from at least six advertisers, including Miller Brewing Co.

Scotland, who lives in Brooklyn and joined the city station in 2004, resigned last month. He had earned $99,000.

He was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit federal wire fraud, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years upon conviction.

Scotland was a producer of Ch. 25's best-known show "Secrets of New York," about hidden spots in the city and hosted by Kelly Choi, who always appeared in a black, floor-length slicker raincoat.

Investigators said they are working with the department that oversees NYC-TV to "strengthen internal controls."

In fact, if the truth were ever really known, I take care of a lot of things for you that you never even realize.

3. TRUST ME: Once you've given your burdens to Me, quit trying to take them back. Trust in Me. Have the faith that I will take care of all your needs, your problems and your trials. Problems with the kids? Put them on My list. Problem with finances? Put it on My list. Problems with your emotional roller coaster? For My sake, put it on My list. I want to help you. All you have to do is ask.

4. LEAVE IT ALONE: Don't wake up one morning and say, "Well, I'm feeling much stronger now, I think I can handle it from here." Why do you think you are feeling stronger now? It's simple. You gave Me your burdens and I'm taking care of them. I also renew your strength and cover you in my peace. Don't you know that if I give you these problems back, you will be right back where you started? Leave them with Me and forget about them. Just let Me do my job.

5. TALK TO ME: I want you to forget a lot of things. Forget what was making you crazy. Forget the worry and the fretting because you know I'm in control. But there's one thing I pray you never forget. Please, don't forget to talk to Me - OFTEN! I love YOU! I want to hear your voice. I want you to include Me in on the things going on in your life. 6. HAVE FAITH: I see a lot of things from up here that you can't see from where you are. Have faith in Me that I know what I'm doing. Trust Me; you wouldn't want the view from My eyes. I will continue to care for you, watch over you, and meet your needs. You only have to trust Me. Although I have a muc h bigger task than you, it seems as if you have so much trouble just doing your simple part. How hard can trust be?

7. SHARE: You were taught to share when you were only two years old. When did you forget? That rule still applies. Share with those who are less fortunate than you. Share your joy with those who need encouragement. Share your laughter with those who haven't heard any in such a long time. Share your tears with those who have forgotten how to cry. Share your faith with those who have none.

8. BE PATIENT: I managed to fix it so in just one lifetime you could have so many diverse experiences. You grow from a child to an adult, have children, change jobs many times, learn many trades, travel to so many places, meet thousands of people, and experience so much. How can you be so impatient then when it takes Me a little longer than you expect to handle something on My to-do-list? Trust in My timing, for My timing is perfect. Just because I created the entire universe in only six days, everyone thinks I should always rush, rush, rush.

9. BE KIND: Be kind to others, for I love them just as much as I love you. They may not dress like you, or talk like you, or live the same way you do, but I still love you all. Please try to get along, for My sake. I created each of you different in some way. It would be too boring if you were all identical. Please, know I love each of your differences.

10. LOVE YOURSELF: As much as I love you, how can you not love yourself? You were created by me for one reason only -- to be loved, and to love in return. I am a God of Love. Love Me. Love your neighbors. But also love yourself. It makes My heart ache when I see you so angry with yourself when things go wrong. You are very precious to me. Don't ever forget......

considering valerie b's current state of affairs, i'm realizing a portion of her success: reveal your goals publicly to the world and then you'll have an audience to answer to in order to reach them:

so this is a handy dandy annual "to do" list provided by the every so motivating Real Simple.
I am happy to say, I've accomplished the following:

pay off debt: paid off 1 credit card, 3 to go (all by June 09!)
refill savings: that's why i'm paying off the CC's; post June 09
get rid of clothes: starting to, and will do so after every season change
see doctors before June (incl. dentist): check check, and double check!
lose 20 - 30: lost 5 due to the dentist!
find part-time/startup: does working for family count?
volunteer @ church: hmmm...we should register w/ a parish first; errr...
clean out 199: early summer project?
girls getaway weekend: i'mma send out invites soon
mid year honeymoon/westcoast: do destination weddings count?
take care of car: took care of this in January, but that's only b/c inspection was 4 months expired!

Last night, while G and I were at Helen Hayes visiting mom for day #7 of her rehab, she felt compelled to share her handy dandy little journal with us since her first incision during surgery on 3/17 and dictate all of her nursy-notes (and some cute personal observations) -- all jotted down in a nice new steno notebook.

To this day, I'm not sure what the intended use of a steno notebook is (the red margin throws me off) but it's been my mother's recording device since I remember her recording anything and last night's memory will now bring added meaning to this stationary product. It was a precious moment.

since i'm going a little out of my mind, i'm going to be a little more personal on this space than usual.

i did my annual @ OBGYN appointment this morning, and wouldn't you know, my doctor is sending me to get another boob ultrasound.

perhaps only my close girlfriends know this, but i am deathly afraid of the genetic path that I've inherited from both mom and pops:

Maternal side:
2 - aunts - breast cancer; survivors

Paternal side:
3 - aunts - breast cancer; survivors
1 - cousin - breast cancer; deceased

I was shook up 2.5 year ago the
last time I had an ultrasound done - no result.
Here I am again, doing the run around for another ultrasound.
Now, reconsidering BRCA testing all over again.

{ i'm not completely sure how I feel,
but I am definitely feeling something. }
